Freddie Gibbs might seem like a new rapper but this ‘Best Rap Album of the Year’ nominee has been building his name and fanbase since 2004. Before his current Grammy Nominated collaboration album Alfredo with hip-hop producer Alchemist, The Indiana-raised rapper’s accomplishments included over 20 mixtapes, eight EPs, four solo albums, and four top-billed collaborative records. One of those collaboration albums was 2019’s Bandana with the infamous producer Madlib. It brought Gibbs new critical and commercial success and peeked to #21 on the Billboard Top 200.

Although his Bandana album was snubbed a Grammy nomination in 2020 and Alfredo was nominated in 2021 but didn’t take home the grand prize, Freddie is still winning. His new deal with Warner Records will allow Gibbs to continue to grow with his ‘day-one fans’ as well as his new ones.
