N4MR (Formerly INFORMER Hip-Hop Magazine), is an American media company based in Sacramento, CA. The magazine was founded In late 1992 as a dependable Hip-Hop reference source for Northern California.

A Hip-Hop loving college radio DJ and graphic design student created N4MR magazine to spread his love for the culture in a graphic and editorial format. The first issue, a double-sided photocopied letter page format, was a huge success. By late ’93, the publication format quickly jumped to 16 pages and a new era in Northern California publishing was born.

N4MR soon became one of the few but prominent voices of Hip-Hop culture in Northern California and beyond. The magazine was among the first publications to feature renowned artists such as Brotha Lynch Hung; Black Sheep; DJ Shadow; Jeru Da Damaja; Spice 1; Mystic Journeymen; Asia Born/Lyrics Born; Method Man; Leaders of the New School; Blackalicious; and E-40 to name a few.

In 1996 N4MR published a cover story on the murder of Tupac Shakur. The title read “No More Pain…Where does Hip-Hop go from here?” Ironically, due to the death of print and the rise of digital, this was the last printed issue of Informer magazine as well.

In 2018 it was relaunched and reimagined as N4MR for a new generation. The new vision positioned N4MR as a digital platform and maintained the original vision – a dependable hip-hop reference source for the world.  The saga continues…
