Straight from East Oakland, Yukkmouth and Knumskull have portrayed an original package yet still maintained that bay area flavor. Contributors to the 16 track album include Dru Down, Shock G, DJ Fuse, N. O. Joe, Richie Rich, E-A-SKI and others. Blowin’ up the club scene is the first single “I Got 5 On It” bringing back the familiar sample from Club Nouveau “Why You Treat Me So Bad?”. For those who know, a party can’t go wrong when this track is in the cut. But this album is by no means a one hit production. In lyrical delivery, they utilize a conversational feel which makes it humorous but never corny. Check the reprise to “I Got 5 On It”, the first verse is a perfect example. The bomb cut is definitely “Pimps Playas and Hustlas”. It depicts the whole cypher of the player life with a phat hook that will stick in your head for days. If you’re still in doubt about picking this up, check their appearance on Dru Down’s underground smash Ice Cream Man. This ain’t no Hammer, but it is Oakland, which will undoubtedly receive much dap on this project.
