One of the most respected names in the reality Hip-Hop genre is back representing compton to no one’s surprise. We Come Strapped is CMW’s fourth album, but do to a marketing plan based on the success of Streiht Up Menace it’s known as an MC Eiht album. Long time CMW followers will notice a marked change in the music. Eiht and DJ Slip traded the drum breaks and samples for programmed drums and live keyboards. Listen on Apple Music.

The result is an intense West Coast gangsta feel that fits Eiht’s slow flow and unmistakable voice. Although his name is on one of the track credits, I can’t help notice the curious absence of  DJ Mike T (to me that’s like Guru without Premier). Tracks to look for are “Compton Bomb,” “Goin’ Out Like Geez,” “Take 2 With Me,” “Hard Times,” and “Nothin But the Gangsta” featuring Spice 1 and Redman. Yes, Redman! This album is sure to earn Eiht the industry respect he has deserved for so long.
